Part 4: Fundamentals of Success in life
Use feedback to your advantage: Once you begin to take action, you will receive feedback about whether you are doing the right things. Once you receive feedback, you must be willing to respond to it. While you may like to recieve a positive feedback, there is as much useful data in negative feedback. It tells you what you are off course, headed in the wrong direction, doing the wrong things. That’s also valuable information.
Commit to constant and never-ending improvement: In Japan, the word for constant and never-ending improvement is kaizen. Achievers — whether in business, sports, or the arts — are committed to continual improvement.
Learn to ask yourself, “How can I make this better? How can I do it more efficiently? How can I do it more profitably? and how can I do this with greater love?
Keep score for success: You must measure what you want more of.
Remember when you were growing up and your parents measured you every few months and kept track of your height on the wall near kitchen door? It was something visible that let you know where you stood in relation to the past and to your future goal (which was usually to be as tall as your mom or dad.)
Successful people keep the score of exciting progress, positive behaviour, financial gain, … anything that they want more of.
So, create a structure for measuring your success, be it in the area of losing weight, building muscles, increased income or simply ability to produce more of quality work at office.
