The Sphere of Silence — A Magical Recipe to Catapult your life to a better, fuller and happier life! Part 3 of 4
The second phase in the Sphere of Silence is the Path of Knowledge, a process which takes 20 minutes.
✓ Begin by picking up a book, not for leisure like a novel or pulp fiction, but for the pursuit of knowledge like philosophy, psychology, religion, or other fields of academic endeavor. It may be vocational or motivational.
✓ Read for 15 minutes.
✓ Earmark the various points you need to remember. You can take a moment to try to remember them.
✓ Upon completion of the 15 minutes, close the book and write down the various points that you want to remember. Do this for 5 minutes.
As amazing as this may sound when you go back to check the notations on your journal, you will find that what you had thought was critical is what you have forgotten.
The next day, after the goal setting exercise, begin by reading your notes on the subject. Do the same thing all over again on the next day and the next until you have finished the book. Once you have finished the book, you will have a summarised version of the book written by you.
Remember, your short-term memory is the biggest, most versatile, most powerful, most flexible tool that you can use in your day-to-day life.
Why read? Because we are living in a world essentially barricaded by the walls in our minds. When we read, we walk into the mind of someone who may have died 20, 200 or 2000 years ago and know how he thought or what he felt. And this has a potential to change your life.
